National Veterans Week - Blackpool 21st to 29th June 2008
A series of events are planned for National Veterans Week here in Blackpool. This will culminate on National Veterans Day on Friday 27th June with a series of events with a grand finale Firework Display from North Pier in the evening

Blackpool Zoo continues to invest in new attractions and will be welcoming back Giraffes to the Zoo in July. We are able to offer our guests discounted tickets on sale in the hotel for the Zoo.

There are numerous other shows on in the resort over the season and these include an exciting line up at the Grand Theatre, National Theatre of Variety, with a 2 week run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in early July.

The Pleasure Beach are once again presenting Hot ice, Forbidden and a number of one night shows in the Paradise Room. Joe Longthorne will return to North Pier Theatre for selected dates in August and September and these are shows not to be missed. This years Illuminations will be switched on by BBC1's Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May on Friday 29th August. The Illuminations will then shine every evening until Sunday 2nd November.

Blackpool is once again hosting the World Firework Championships and these will be staged from North Pier on Sunday 31st August, Friday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th September 2008.
